Guinea Pigs R Us is in great need of monetary donations to assist with veterinary bills incurred while caring for our residents. In addition to providing appropriate medical care to all our charges, all rabbits rescued by GPRU are spayed or neutered and most of our rescues are treated with Revolution to treat for external parasites. Our vet bills are quickly adding up - without help we will not be able to save as many animals' lives as we have in the past.

Guinea Pigs R Us will also gratefully accept donations of the following items to help care for our rescued charges and to help us save more little lives:
- Bedding for small animals such as aspen shavings, Yesterday's News, untreated wood stove pellets (for litter boxes) and Carefresh, fleece and used crib quilts, puppy training pads.
- Food for small animals including quality timothy and/or alfalfa pellets for guinea pigs and rabbits (Oxbow and Martins brands for example), as well as rodent lab blocks for rats and hamsters.
- Timothy hay
- Larger sized water bottles suitable for guinea pigs and rabbits (16 oz and 32 oz)
- Pet food dishes
- Storage cubes to build C&C cages for our guinea pigs and rabbits (description of cubes can be found on this page: www.guineapigcages.com/cubes.htm)
If you are unable to foster or adopt a pet for the rescue but would still like to help save the lives of animals in need, consider sponsoring a guinea pig or other small furry friend! We have different sponsoring programs to meet your needs:
Sanctuary Pets:
Our Sanctuary Pets are animals who have come into the rescue and been deemed unadoptable due to persistent and/or terminal illnesses. You can sponsor a Sanctuary Pet with a one time donation, or on a monthly basis. Either way, you are guaranteed that whatever you donate goes directly to the Sanctuary Pets needs - whether it be for medication or day to day expenses such as food or bedding.
When you Sponsor a pet, you will receive a certificate to honour your donation which includes a photo of the pet(s), a description of how the pet came to be in the rescue, and why they need sponsoring, along with your name and the date the certificate was issues.
When you donate monthly, you will receive the certificate as well as regular updates on your sponsored pet(s) and details of their progress. You may even get to meet your sponsored pet(s) if circumstances allow!
Adoptable Pets:
You can also sponsor a pet who is up for adoption in the rescue. All the rabbits that come through our rescue are spayed or neutered, and all our guinea pigs and rats are treated with Revolution to prevent the spread of topical parasites that are so common in these little guys that come from uncaring homes. With this one time donation you will receive a certificate to honour your donation that includes a photo of the pet(s) you have sponsored, and a description of their personalities and how they came to be at the rescue.
Monthly Donations:
We also have a program set up for monthly donations, not necessarily to sponsor a particular pet, but to help with the overhead costs of the rescue and to help us reach our goal of becoming a Registered Charity in 2008! With a monthly donation you will receive photos of pets currently in our rescue, as well as animals that we are able to take into the rescue because of your generousity. You will also receive our monthly e-newsletter with updates about the rescue and news about upcoming events.
